About Me

My name is Rebekah and I am a wife and teacher.  I graduated in May 2013 from college with a double major in Bible & Theology as well as Elementary Education.  I married my best friend exactly five years from the date we met (to read our engagement story, click here. to view our wedding pictures, click here or here).  We were married on May 11, 2013. The biggest defining point about me is my relationship with Jesus Christ.  While I don't live out my relationship as I should, my life goal is to be like Christ.  He has given me a passion for children and teaching and I feel that is so fitting with who Jesus is.  After all, He was the one who said, "Let the little children come unto me".  The Lord is daily teaching me to love, even towards the unlovely.  I venture to say this will be a life long lesson.  I am thankful for the Lord's patience towards me.  The past three summers I have spent my time with children, teaching in some shape or form.  Each summer responsibility has taught me a different lesson.

My sweet husband and I have felt a very clear call on our love for overseas missions.  Our plan is to work in the states for a few years to pay off school loans as well as get some experience in our vocations.  We then hope to move overseas permanently as missionaries where he will continue working as an airplane mechanic and I hope to teach in an international school.  When the Lord gives us children we hope and pray to be in a position that I will be able to be a stay-at-home mom, and then home school our children.  There is something about the fact of my hard time and money spent towards college being cycled back into using it to benefit our children, that I find so satisfying.  Please understand that this is my dream and while right now we feel it could very easily happen, we are opening and willing for the Lord to change this.

I started this blog with the main intent of keeping family back home updated on the happenings of my life while at college.  It became tedious constantly sharing the same old 'boring' information with every dear person back home lifting me up in prayer and eager to get updates.  Doing it via blog allows posts with pictures which I think makes them a little more exciting for most people.  I do have a wide variety of interests you will find popping up frequently in my blog...organization, family, friends, my relationship with Jesus Christ, elementary education, cooking, and the list could go on.  I very much enjoy blogging, and would love to watch my blog continually evolve to help encourage other woman to find the joy in life.

"And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross vdaily and follow me." Luke 9:23
